STEP 3. Satisfaction

You might think this step is about the feeling of satisfaction you’ll feel after confessing your sins.


Well…yes and no.

Technically “satisfaction” means you do the penance you were given in Confession. The penance could have been the recitation of some prayers, attendance at Holy Mass, or some act of mercy.

But, yeah, I guess you can also loosely interpret “satisfaction” as the profound satisfaction you’ll feel, knowing that you’ve just been reconciled with God and the Church and are given the graces you’ll need to fight temptations. It’s important to note that Confession isn’t just about being forgiven; it’s also about being filled with graces. This is one reason it’s good to make frequent, regular Confessions.
